Our Story
The Community Cafe is a unique new enterprise made possible by our generous community donors. We raised over $300,000 to make this dream a reality.
With this help we were able to purchase the former 7th St. Deli and build upon a longstanding community cornerstone, to envision a future where no one in our community goes hungry, and no food goes to waste.
The 7th St. Community Cafe is an LLC subsidiary of the Community Food Bank of Grand Junction. All profits from sales through the cafe will go to support our mission to nourish the Grand Valley.
Food insecurity is a real issue in our community, but we can do something about it! Everyday the Community Food Bank is working hard to address food insecurity through nutritious food distribution, bilingual resource navigation, and nutrition exploration.
Cafe sales will not only provide diversified revenue streams to help us sustain this crucial work, it will help us provide jobs training & skills building in our community, help further reduce waste in our local food system, and bring visibility to our work.
Please know that we are an independent nonprofit program serving only Mesa County. Every dollar you spend helps us support a neighbor in need and we are committed to buying as much from local producers and businesses whenever possible.
